Geological study and analysis of the long-term stability of embankment excavations for an irrigation reservoir (El Ejido – Almería)

The work has focused on the geological characterisation of the site and the assessment of the long-term stability of the slopes created during the trench excavation. Safety conditions have been analysed in relation to potential instability mechanisms during the construction phase, and criteria and recommendations have been established to ensure that the works are carried out under conditions of adequate stability.
